# Connect TransIP

Connect your TransIP account to InfraNest so you can manage your VPS servers, DNS records, domains and SSL certificates all in one place.

## Overview

- Bring your TransIP VPS servers, domains, DNS zones and certificates into InfraNest.
- Choose exactly which features (Cloud, DNS, Domains, Certificates) you want InfraNest to manage.
- Get email warnings if the connection runs into problems.

## Before you start

You'll need your TransIP **account name** and an **API key** (a private key). See **Create a TransIP API key** for the steps.

## Connect TransIP

1. Go to **Integrations** and open **TransIP**.
2. Give the connection an **Account label** (Optional). Leave it blank and it takes the provider's name — a second connection to the same provider becomes "… (1)", so they stay tellable apart.
3. Choose which features to use it for: **Cloud**, **DNS**, **Domains** and **Certificates**.
4. Enter your account name and paste your private key.
5. Leave **Email me when this integration has problems** ticked if you'd like email warnings.
6. Select **Connect**.

## What you get once it's connected

- **Cloud (VPS)** — see your VPS servers and their specs, manage power state, and set reverse DNS.
- **DNS** — view and edit records for your TransIP domains.
- **Domains** — register, transfer in, renew, and manage nameservers, contacts and DNSSEC.
- **SSL certificates** — your TransIP certificates appear in your certificate list.

## Tips

> [!NOTE]
> Transfer lock and WHOIS privacy aren't available through InfraNest for TransIP domains, so those options don't appear.

- **Auto-renew can be switched off** through InfraNest, but switching it back on is done in the TransIP control panel.
- DNS zones follow your domains — they aren't created on their own.

## Troubleshooting

> If you see **"Authentication failed"**, check your account name, make sure you pasted the whole private key, and confirm API access is turned on in TransIP. If you restricted the key by IP, add InfraNest's IP.
