If InfraNest sends you more notifications than you actually need, this article shows you how to quiet things down — for anyone who finds themselves ignoring alerts because there are too many of them.

## Overview

- The **Quiet** tab in **My account → Notifications** shows everything that's currently keeping notifications quiet for you.
- It also looks at your recent activity and suggests specific changes when something has been sending you too much.
- You stay in control: nothing changes until you approve a suggestion, and anything muted can be unmuted at any time.

## Review suggestions to cut the noise

1. Go to **My account → Notifications** and open the **Quiet** tab.
2. If something has been noisy over the last 7 days, look for the **Suggestions** card.
3. Read each suggestion. You might see things like a repeated daily outage, a monitor sending most of your notifications, a notification type you rarely open, emails about things you've already read, or an email type you never use.
4. Decide what to do with each one:
   - Click the suggested action (for example **Set up a daily window**, **Silence for a day**, **Stop showing in the app**, **Skip those emails**, or **Stop these emails**) to apply it.
   - Click **Not now** to hide a suggestion for two weeks without changing anything.
   - Click **Open** to go to the item the suggestion is about before deciding.
5. If you change your mind after applying a suggestion, click **Undo** to put things back the way they were.

> [!NOTE]
> Monitor alerts, billing and security notifications are never suggested off. For a noisy monitor, InfraNest suggests a maintenance window or a short silence instead.

## Check what's muted

1. On the **Quiet** tab, find the **Muted** card — it lists everything currently keeping notifications quiet for you.

2. Look through the list. You may see entries such as:
   - **Monitor silenced** — someone pressed Silence on a monitor.
   - **Snoozed** or **Marked as intentional** — a known problem that can wait, or one that's on purpose.
   - **Server snoozed** — a server that stopped reporting, snoozed.
   - **All alerts paused for the organisation** — an admin paused every alert; only an admin can end this, under **Alerts**.
   - **Not shown in the app**, **No pop-ups**, **No email** — a kind of notification you switched off yourself.
3. Check who muted each item and until when. Entries marked **Until you unmute** don't end on their own, so review these from time to time.
4. Click **Unmute** on any row to turn that notification back on straight away.
5. From anywhere in InfraNest, click **Review** next to the **Switched off** count at the top of the page to jump straight to this list.

## See what was held back for you

1. Scroll to the bottom of the **Quiet** tab, or open the bell, to see a summary such as *Held back for you: 1 email skipped — you had already read it · 2 held during your quiet hours*.
2. For details on each rule behind this, see the article on quiet hours, do not disturb and away.

## Other ways to quieten things

- **Turn a kind off in one place:** on the **Where** tab, switch off **Email** for Domains but keep it **In the app**, or the other way round.
- **One email type, never:** under **Advanced → Per type (advanced)**, set a single kind of email to **Off**.
- **From the bell:** use a notification's **⋯** menu for **Silence 1 h** or **Stop showing … notifications in the app**.
- **From an email:** use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of an email to turn off that kind of email.
- **A daily summary instead of a stream:** on the **When** tab, set **Everything else** to **Daily** so non-urgent problems arrive in one email, only when something is new.
- **Fewer things marked urgent on your phone:** set your own Telegram's column to **Urgent only** (the default) or **Off** for a kind.

## Tips

> [!TIP]
> Suggestions are based only on your own last 7 days, so check back regularly — new noisy patterns will prompt new suggestions.

## What you can't turn off

- **Billing and System in the bell:** security alerts, sign-in requests and payment problems keep your account safe and paid.
- **Billing email** and **security alert email** always get through.
