This article is for anyone who needs to check on their domains, cloud, monitoring or billing, and share what they find with someone else.

## Overview
- **Reports** brings together the questions InfraNest can answer about your account, filtered how you want, and shareable as a link.
- Some reports show what you have right now; others show what happened over a period you choose.
- Every report can be filtered, some can be grouped into sections, and all of them can be copied, exported or printed to share with someone else.

## Start with the account review

1. Open **Reports** from the sidebar.
2. Look for the **account review** at the top of the hub — it covers one month, for one client, in the order a client would ask for it.
3. This is the only report built to be handed over rather than just looked at, and the only one you can have emailed to someone automatically every month.

## Understand the two kinds of report

1. In the hub, notice that reports are split into two groups.
2. **Current state** reports show what you have right now — itemised costs, upcoming renewals, who has access. These recalculate every time you open them, so there's no period to pick.
3. **Over time** reports show what happened across a period you choose — spend, uptime, domain history, price changes, sign-ins, server capacity. Each one tells you the date it started recording.
4. Check the label next to each report before opening it — it will say **No date range**, **Calendar month**, or **Next 30 days** / **Next 60 days** / **Next 90 days**, so you know which kind you're getting.
5. Below both lists, find **Emailed reports**, showing what's already being sent for your organization and when it last went out. Select **Manage** to open the full list in **Settings**.

## Read the summary at the top

1. Open any report and read the two or three sentences at the top first — they explain what changed, what needs attention, and what the numbers add up to.
2. Trust that everything in those sentences is backed up by the figures shown below.
3. Expect only the three most important points, worst first — something you need to act on comes before something you should simply know.
4. If there's nothing to report, expect the summary to say so plainly, such as "Nothing falls due in the next 60 days."
5. If a figure is incomplete, expect the summary to say so — for example, that two unpriced items are missing from a total.

## Choose a period

1. For **Over time** reports, pick a month, a quarter or a whole year using the date control.
2. Where available, switch between **Day** and **Month** rows — this option only appears when the underlying data supports it.

> [!NOTE]
> Periods are calendar months rather than rolling ranges like "the last 30 days," because a rolling figure changes every day. "99.94% for July" stays true forever; "99.94% over the last 30 days" won't say the same thing tomorrow.

## Filter a report

1. Open a report and look for the filters relevant to it — options may include a tag, a kind of thing, a provider, a registrar, or one of your own custom fields.
2. Only values you actually have will be offered — for example, no tag filter appears if nothing has been tagged yet.
3. Set a filter, and notice the control now shows what you picked, with a **Clear filters** button appearing beside it.
4. Select **Clear filters** to remove all filters and return to seeing everything.
5. Copy the address bar link to share the exact filtered view you're looking at — filters and the period are both included in the link.

> [!TIP]
> If a filtered history report tells you it couldn't consider some entries, that's because a tag lives on the thing being tagged, not on the historical event. If that thing has since been deleted, its tag can't match your filter — the report will tell you how many entries were affected instead of silently shortening the list.

## Group a report into sections

1. Open a report that supports grouping — for example, renewals, domain history, or itemised costs.
2. Use the **Group by** control to split the report into sections, such as by month, kind, registrar, extension or provider.
3. Check the subtotal shown for each section — a money figure where the report deals in one currency, or a count where it doesn't.
4. Select **No grouping** to return to one flat list.

Months always stay in date order rather than biggest-first, so you can see things in the order they'll actually arrive.

## Share a report

1. Copy the address bar URL to share the exact view you're looking at, including the report, period, filters and grouping.
2. Select **Download PDF** or use **Print** to open your browser's print dialog, where saving as PDF is one of the options.
3. In the printed or downloaded copy, check for the summary of what it is — your organization, the report, the period, any filters applied, and when the figures were last updated.
4. Alternatively, look for an export option to download the filtered rows for a spreadsheet or an accountant. Every export is recorded in your audit log.

## Switch between reports

1. Use the control beside the report's title to jump straight to a different report without returning to the hub.
2. Type to search if you already know which report you want.

## Tips

> [!TIP]
> If you pick a period before InfraNest started recording data, the report will say "Nothing recorded" and name the date it starts from. This means the period is empty for everyone, not that your filter hid something.

## Good to know
- Some reports are part of a paid plan. They still appear in the hub with **Upgrade to unlock** beside them, so you can see what's included before deciding.
- Reports never change anything in your account — they only show you what's there.
