Give your status page your own look — colours, layout and sections — all from a settings screen, no design skills needed. This is for anyone who manages a status page and wants it to feel like part of their own product.

## Overview
- Every visual option is a setting you can preview before saving.
- You control layout, colour scheme, accent colour, header image, spacing, history length and which sections appear.
- Some things — like outage colours and section order — stay fixed everywhere, so visitors always recognise trouble at a glance.

## Open appearance settings
1. Go to **Settings**, then **Status Pages**.
2. Open the page you want to customise.
3. Expand **Appearance**.

## Choose a layout
1. In **Appearance**, pick a layout: **One column** or **Two columns**. A small drawing shows you the shape of each before you choose.
2. Use **One column** for most pages — everything runs top to bottom, and it's the default.
3. Use **Two columns** if you list a lot of services and the page has become a long scroll — services stay on the left, with planned maintenance and the subscribe form in a narrower column beside them.

> [!NOTE]
Both layouts show exactly the same information — nothing is added, hidden or reworded, only moved. Anything currently wrong always stays across the full width at the top. On a phone, a two-column page folds back into one, with nothing lost.

## Set the colour scheme
1. In **Appearance**, choose **Light**, **Dark**, or an automatic option that follows each visitor's own device.
2. Pick the automatic option if you're fine with the page looking different for different visitors — it also updates live if their device switches modes while the page is open.
3. Pick **Light** or **Dark** if the page should always look the same to everyone.

## Set the accent colour
1. The accent colour is your organisation's brand colour, used for highlights like the subscribe button.
2. It isn't set on this page — go to **Settings → Organization → Brand** to change it, so it stays consistent everywhere.

> [!NOTE]
This is a white-label feature. If your plan doesn't include it, your page uses the default blue.

## Add a header image
1. In **Appearance**, add an optional wide banner image for the top of the page — a product shot, a pattern, or your own artwork.
2. Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG up to 5 MB.
3. If you skip this, the page simply starts with your logo and name, as it does today.

## Adjust spacing
1. In **Appearance**, choose **Roomy** (the normal look) or **Compact** (tighter rows, so more services fit on screen).
2. Compact only changes spacing — it never hides a service or removes a section.

## Choose how much history is shown
1. In **Appearance**, choose **30**, **60** or **90 days**.
2. This sets how far back the uptime bars and incident history go.
3. A shorter range also makes the page load a little faster.

## Turn sections on or off
1. In **Appearance**, find the list of sections.
2. Turn off anything your page doesn't need: uptime bars beside each service, the overall uptime strip (shown on the embeddable widget rather than the page itself), planned maintenance, third-party services you watch, incident history, or email subscriptions.
3. Visitors never see an empty section — anything switched off simply isn't there.

## Tips
> [!TIP]
If your service list is long and the subscribe form ends up far down the page, switching to **Two columns** brings it back into view.

## What visitors always see
Some things aren't configurable, on purpose:
- **Status colours** — a major outage is always red, whatever your accent colour is, so trouble is recognisable at a glance, even to first-time visitors.
- **The order of sections** — what's wrong now always comes before what's planned, which comes before what's already fixed. Changing the layout moves sections around the page, but never past that order.

## Does this apply everywhere?
Yes. Your appearance settings apply to your page on the InfraNest domain, on your own custom domain, and to the copy served from the edge network during an outage — the version people see when the rest of the system is unreachable, and the one that matters most.
