Answers to the questions new users ask most about InfraNest.

Overview

  • Most resources — domains, DNS records, servers — arrive automatically through integrations rather than manual forms.
  • Alerts and Notifications are separate systems: one is personal, the other is organization-wide.
  • You can export your data anytime, invite teammates, and generate an API token when you're ready to build.

Add a domain

  1. Domains aren't added by hand — there's no "add domain" form.
  2. Go to Integrations and connect the registrar or DNS provider that manages your domain.
  3. Once connected, your domains sync in automatically.
  4. Check the Domains section after the first sync completes to see them appear.

Find missing domains, DNS, or servers

  1. Open Integrations and confirm the relevant provider is connected.
  2. If it's not connected yet, use Connect an account to set it up.
  3. Wait for the first sync to finish — this can take a few minutes.
  4. If the list stays empty, check the integration's health status for errors.

NoteResources like domains, DNS records, and servers are never added manually — they only appear through a connected integration.

Send alerts to Slack, Telegram, Teams, or Discord

  1. Go to AlertsDestinations.
  2. Select Add to connect your Slack, Telegram, Teams, or Discord destination.
  3. Follow the prompts to Connect the destination.
  4. Route the specific events you care about to that destination.

Understand Notifications vs. Alerts

  • Notifications (found under My Profile → Notifications) control your own personal email and in-app preferences.
  • Alerts configure where organization-wide alerts are routed — for example, to a team channel.

Export your data

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open the Data section.
  3. Choose to export a specific resource as CSV or JSON, or export everything as a ZIP file.

Know what happens when your trial ends

  1. If you don't upgrade before the trial ends, your organization automatically moves to the Free plan.
  2. Your data stays intact — nothing is deleted.

Invite your team

  1. Go to SettingsTeam.
  2. Invite teammates by email.
  3. Assign each person a role.

Check that your data is secure

  • Secrets are encrypted at rest.
  • The platform supports two-factor authentication (2FA).
  • Backups run daily.

TipFor more detail on encryption, 2FA, and backups, see the Security article.

Use the API

  1. Go to SettingsAPI Tokens.
  2. Select Create to generate a new token.
  3. Scope the token to only the abilities you need.
  4. Refer to the API docs for the full endpoint reference.
