A cheap name can cost you later. Your email may land in spam, or browsers may warn your visitors. InfraNest checks every name you watch and answers in plain words. You see its age, its past website and whether it had visitors. You also see whether it is on a spam list, has been reported for scams or viruses, or contains a famous brand. We never print a made-up price. You get the facts and you decide. If something is wrong, the card says what to do about it.

Know when it will actually be free
An expired domain does not come free the next day. It usually takes about 75 days. InfraNest shows which stage your name is in and when it should drop. It also says how sure that date is, and why we think the owner let it go. For .uk, Nominet publishes the exact time, so you get that. You can stop checking WHOIS and guessing.

Deletion windows for .com are fixed by ICANN, so these are the registry’s real timings. The date can still move by weeks — the registrar chooses when in the first 45 days it deletes an expired name — and it firms up once the name reaches redemption.

Auctions, both kinds
Some names go to a registrar auction and never drop. We flag those with a bid link, the price and the end time. On extensions like .ai, .ca and .cz the registry auctions a released name first. Your chances say so, and no doomed attempt is billed to you.
Alerts worth reading
You hear when a name is dropping soon, free, caught or missed, and if the owner renews it after all. You get an alert when the answer changes, not every time a record moves.
Checked again before the drop
About 10 minutes before the drop, we check your registrar, contact, credit and plan again. If anything fails, you hear about it then, not after the drop.
When we cannot read the registry
Registries limit how often anyone can ask. If we cannot read a name, you are told, once per extension and not fifty times.
Racing your registrars
A Business option that tries every registrar at once, not one after another. It gives a small edge on contested names. Losing attempts can be charged and refunded. It stays off, with the reason, where a registrar cannot do it.

How do I know if an expired domain is worth buying?
Look at what it was, and what it carries with it. InfraNest shows the name’s age, its past website, whether it had visitors and how easy it is to say. It also checks spam lists, scam and virus reports, and famous brands. You get this for every name you watch, on every plan.
How much is an expired domain worth?
We do not print a price. Appraisals are least reliable on exactly these names, and a number would read as our promise. You get the facts a price would rest on, in plain words. Discover and the watch list also give each name a score from its length, extension and how it reads. That score ranks names. It is not a value in money.
Is an expired domain safe to buy?
Often, but check first. A name may be on a spam list, so email linking to it is marked as spam. Google may warn visitors about it. It may also contain a brand that its owner will defend. We check when you add the name and keep checking until the drop. If we find something, the card says what to do if you still want it. The brand check is a pointer, not legal advice.
How long after a domain expires can I register it?
Usually about 75 days, not the next day. First comes a grace period, when the owner can still renew. Then 30 days of redemption, when they can pay a fee to get it back. Then 5 days of pending delete. Only then does the registry release it. InfraNest shows which stage a name is in and when it should come free.
What is drop-catching?
Registering a domain the moment the registry deletes it, before anyone else can. The drop lasts seconds. So you set it up in advance, and your registrar tries for the name the instant it comes free.
Can you guarantee I get the domain?
No, and nobody honestly can. We can tell you whether a name is really being let go. We cannot know how many other people want it. So you get your chances in words, with the reason. For a name nobody else wants, your own registrar usually gets it. For a sought-after .com, a backorder is your best chance, and it costs nothing unless it wins.
What is the difference between auto-register and a backorder?
Auto-register uses your own registrar accounts and tries the moment the name is free. It starts on Pro and works well for names nobody is competing for. A backorder hands the job to a specialist service that goes after the name ahead of the drop. That is what it takes to win a contested name. Backorders are on Business, and you pay only if one succeeds.
What if the domain goes to auction instead?
Plenty do. Some registrars auction expired names, and a few registries auction them before anyone can register. InfraNest spots both and gives you the link to bid, with the price and end time where the provider publishes them. We cannot bid for you. Only registrars can.
Which domain extensions can I search before they drop?
Discover covers .uk only for now, because Nominet publishes its list of names to be released. Other extensions appear when their registry publishes a list. You can still watch a name on most other extensions by typing it in.
