Not supported
InfraNest can't register new domains or transfer domains into IONOS through this connection — both stay on the IONOS control panel. Auto-renew toggling and DNSSEC also aren't available here.

Create an IONOS API key
Generate the full prefix.secret key InfraNest needs, at developer.hosting.ionos.com under Domains & DNS.

Open Integrations, choose IONOS, and pick which features to use it for: DNS, Domains and Certificates.

Paste the full API key and select Connect — existing DNS zones are found and imported automatically.

#Will connecting IONOS overwrite my existing DNS records?
No. Your existing zones are found and imported automatically when you connect, and every record keeps its own identifier at IONOS so an edit only ever touches the record you meant.
#Can I use this for domains that aren't registered with IONOS?
Yes. IONOS can host DNS zones for a domain no matter where it's registered, so you can manage those records from InfraNest too.
#What happens if my API key is revoked or expires?
DNS, domain and certificate syncing stops until you update the key in InfraNest, since the same key covers all three. You'll want to replace it as soon as you rotate or reissue it in IONOS.
#Can InfraNest change things on the IONOS side?
Yes — InfraNest can create, edit and delete DNS records, renew domains, update nameservers and contacts, toggle WHOIS privacy, lock transfers and pull the transfer (EPP) code, all sent straight to IONOS.
