One place to manage IONOS domains, DNS and certificates

Manage IONOS DNS, domain renewals and certificate expiry without switching to their console

Connect IONOS once and manage DNS, domain renewals and certificates from InfraNest instead of the IONOS control panel.

  • DNS records stay in sync: existing zones are found and imported automatically, and every record has its own identifier at IONOS, so a change made anywhere shows up correctly rather than as a duplicate or a mismatch.
  • Domain details tracked without logging in: expiry dates, nameservers and lock state sync from IONOS, and you can renew domains, manage contacts, toggle WHOIS privacy, lock or unlock transfers, and pull the transfer (EPP) code from InfraNest.
  • Certificates watched for expiry: your IONOS certificates appear in your certificate list so you can see what's expiring alongside everything else you manage.
  • DNS zones for any domain: you can host DNS through IONOS for a domain registered anywhere, not only ones registered with IONOS.

NoteRegistering a new domain or transferring one in stays on the IONOS site — this connection doesn't do either.

What you can do

Once IONOS is connected, this is what InfraNest can do with it.

  • Automatic zone import on connect
  • Record-level change tracking
  • Domain renewal, locking and WHOIS privacy
  • DNS hosting for domains registered elsewhere
  • Certificate expiry tracking

Not supported

InfraNest can't register new domains or transfer domains into IONOS through this connection — both stay in the IONOS control panel. There's also no auto-renew toggle or DNSSEC control here.

How to connect it

  1. 1

    Open the IONOS integration

Go to Integrations and open IONOS.

  2. 2

    Label the connection (optional)

Leave it blank to use the provider's name, or set your own label so multiple connections stay distinguishable.

  3. 3

    Choose which features to use

    Select DNS, Domains and/or Certificates.

  4. 4

Paste your API key and connect

Paste the full prefix.secret value from developer.hosting.ionos.com → Domains & DNS, then select Connect.

That’s it — IONOS is connected.

Full setup guide

Set up with AI

I use IONOS, and I want to connect it to InfraNest (infranest.io) — it manages domains, DNS, servers and certificates across providers. InfraNest asks for: API key. Walk me through creating that in IONOS: where each setting is in the current interface, whether a read-only option exists, and how to check it works before I paste it in.

What syncs

Questions

#What can InfraNest actually change on IONOS?

InfraNest can create, edit and delete DNS records, renew domains, manage nameservers and contacts, lock or unlock transfers, toggle WHOIS privacy, and retrieve the transfer (EPP) code. Registering a new domain or transferring one in has to be done in the IONOS control panel.

#Can I use this for DNS on a domain that isn't registered with IONOS?

Yes. IONOS can host DNS zones for a domain registered at any registrar, so this works even if the domain itself lives elsewhere.

#What happens if my API key is revoked or expires?

Actions against IONOS will fail with an authentication error until you paste a new, active key. If you left the email warning option ticked when connecting, you'll be notified when the integration runs into problems.

#Will editing a DNS record here conflict with a change made directly in IONOS?

No. Every record has its own identifier at IONOS, so InfraNest edits exactly the record you meant and can tell when a record was changed outside InfraNest.

#Does this cover cloud servers or hosting on IONOS?

No. This integration covers DNS, domains and certificates only — cloud resources aren't supported here.

One dashboard for every provider

Add this integration, then the rest of your stack — domains, DNS, servers, certificates and monitoring in one place.
