About integrations

Integrations connect your provider accounts — like Hetzner, Cloudflare or AWS — to InfraNest, so your servers, domains, DNS and certificates all appear in one place. This article is for anyone who wants to understand what integrations do and how to connect one.

#Overview

• Each provider can cover one or more areas: Cloud (servers, firewalls, volumes, networks, load balancers), DNS (zones and records), Domains (registered domains and actions like renew, transfer and nameservers), and Certificates (SSL certificates).
• One connection can cover several of these areas at once. You'll only ever see the actions a provider actually supports — anything it can't do is greyed out.
• You can connect more than one account of the same provider, for example two Hetzner projects.

#Connect a provider

1. Open Integrations and pick the provider you want.
2. Read what it does, then choose Connect.
3. Choose the features you want the connection to cover, and give it a label so you can recognise it later.
4. If the provider needs an API key, follow the numbered steps on the form — it links straight to the page where the key is made and tells you exactly which permissions to tick.
5. Choose Connect. InfraNest checks the key right away. If something's missing, you'll see what the provider said and a link to fix it. Nothing is saved until the key works.

NoteYour credentials are stored encrypted and are never shown again after you save them.

NoteIf the provider doesn't answer right away because it's busy or briefly down, InfraNest saves the key anyway and checks it again during the first import — so you don't have to make a new one.

Each connection also has a health indicator, syncs on a schedule, and can be refreshed on demand with Refresh. If a sync fails, you'll be alerted.

#Act on a suggestion

At the top of Browse, InfraNest suggests up to three next steps, based on things already in your workspace — never on advertising. Each suggestion says why, for example: "23 of your domains use Cloudflare DNS." A few of the domains it's based on are shown underneath, so you can check it yourself.

1. Look at the suggestion and its reason.
2. Choose Turn on if your account with that provider can already do the job but the feature is switched off — one click turns it on, no new key needed.
3. Choose Connect if it's a provider your domains use that you haven't connected yet — this opens the connect page.
4. Choose See plans if the suggestion needs a different plan.
5. Close a suggestion with the × if it's not useful. This applies across your whole team, and also on the Domains list and the setup page.

Featured suggestions are different — they're InfraNest's own picks and have nothing to do with your account. InfraNest only ever suggests providers you can connect.

Under your cards, Connected lists features your connected accounts already support but have switched off, plus automations that work with what you've connected. Turning one on works the same way. It's hidden while you search or filter.

#Ask someone else to connect it

If someone else holds the account — like your IT team or an agency — you don't need their password.

1. Open the provider under Integrations and choose Don't have the login? Ask someone who does, next to Connect. You'll also find this next to a suggested connection on the connect form, and on parts of Your stack on Home.
2. Read what the link allows: connecting this one provider for your workspace, once, until a date three days away. They won't see your monitors, domains or anything else, and don't need an InfraNest account.
3. Choose Copy link to send it yourself, or type their address and choose Email it. The email names you and your address, says what the link can and cannot do, and how to check it's genuine — it always opens on our own app address.
4. Wait for them to connect it. You'll get a notification and an email. The audit log shows who asked and who connected it.

WarningThe link works once and expires after three days. You can Revoke it from the same place until it's used.

If your plan can't take another connection, you'll see that when you create the link, before anyone is sent anywhere.

#Explore an integration's page

Click an integration to open its page. It has up to three tabs:

1. Overview — what it does, what you can automate, and once connected: Health, What it does for you, Next steps and Recent activity. If an account has stopped working, the first next step is to fix it.
2. Connections & settings — lists your accounts, channels or endpoints, each with its own settings behind Manage. An account's page has three tabs: Status, Access & features and Account (including Disconnect).
3. Activity — the requests InfraNest made, the alerts it sent, or the deliveries to your endpoints.

Right after connecting, the page shows what's being imported and how far it's got, for example "DNS: importing — 8 zones so far". You can leave the page while it runs. A tab only appears when there's something in it — a calendar feed has no Activity tab, because nothing is sent anywhere. Anything needing your attention is shown above the tabs, whichever tab you're on.

#Available integrations

• Cloud servers: Hetzner, DigitalOcean, OVHcloud, TransIP.
• DNS: Cloudflare, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Amazon Web Services (Route 53), OVHcloud, TransIP, GoDaddy, IONOS, Namecheap, Porkbun, Dynadot, Openprovider.
• Domains (registrars): Cloudflare, Amazon Web Services (Route 53), OVHcloud, TransIP, GoDaddy, IONOS, Namecheap, Porkbun, Dynadot, Openprovider. Each registrar supports a different set of actions — renewals, transfers, nameservers, auto-renew — and its own guide says which.
• Certificates: SSL.com, plus certificates held at Hetzner, Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Amazon Web Services (ACM), TransIP, IONOS, Namecheap, Porkbun, Openprovider.
• Alert destinations: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Discord, email.
• On-call and incidents: PagerDuty.
• Issue trackers and write-ups: Jira, Confluence, Linear, Notion, GitHub.
• Automation tools: Zapier, Make, n8n, Power Automate, or any system of your own with a custom webhook.
• Calendars: Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, or any calendar app through the iCal feed.
